Historical Features

The Park contains a veteran’s memorial and flagpole and a marker honoring benefactors Ervin and Anna Schumacher, who donated land for the park in 1950. Take a walk around and you’ll see the “Family Forest” of small trees planted in people’s memory, clustered especially south of the swimming pool.

The park’s south entrance is framed by two of the original pulleys from Drayton’s old steel drawbridge built in 1911.
