About Us

Welcome to the City of Drayton! We are defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents hold dear. We take pride in maintaining a wholesome lifestyle, rich in cultural history, along with a deep commitment to the preservation of our environment and a progressive approach to local business.

Baseball Capital of North Dakota

The Drayton High School Baseball team won all six North Dakota State Championships between 1958 and 1963, the only team ever to accomplish that feat. During this run, the American Legion Baseball Team won two Class A State Championships in North Dakota as well as an interstate regional title in 1958, making Drayton the smallest town ever to win both state titles as well as the regional title in the same year.  Due to this accomplishment, North Dakota Governor John Davis named Drayton the Baseball Capital of North Dakota.

Catfish Capital of the North

Located on the Red River, Drayton, ND dubs itself the Catfish Capital of the North and reels in fishermen from around the country who regularly catch 10 – 20 pound channel catfish.
